Embracing the Seeds of Change

In January 2022, we partnered with Ecologi as part of our CSR promise. SGI made the bold pledge to plant a tree for every successful placement made with you, our customers. This commitment has led to establishing our very own SGI Rainforest, symbolising our dedication to combating climate change, restoring ecosystems, and giving back to communities.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that we have planted an impressive 1910 trees in the SGI Forest! This achievement is a testament to our customers' invaluable support and trust.


What is Ecologi? 

UK- Based start-up Ecologi, is on a mission to reduce half the world’s projected greenhouse gas emission by 2040. With Ecologi, businesses and individuals can fund planet-positive projects and offset carbon through subscriptions. Since they formed, Ecologi have helped to plant over 60 million tree in reforestation projects around the world. They have offset over 2 million tonnes of CO2, which is the equivalent of taking 400,000 cars of the road. Ecologi have helped over 19,000 businesses taken climate action.

So far, we've planted trees in:

  • Kenya
  • Mozambique
  • Morocco
  • Tanzania
  • Nicaragua
  • Uganda 

Going Beyond Tree Planting

The SGI CSR promise extends beyond tree planting. It encompasses our commitment to working with communities and driving measurable change. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we also support the Eden Rainforest Project, which enables people in rural communities worldwide to earn a consistent liveable income whilst restoring the environment and improving fisheries, agriculture, and carbon sequestration. For many people, this is their first chance at earning a reliable income, which is transformational, enabling them access to clean water, food security and education for their children.


Proud Partners of Ecologi 

So far, the Ecologi community of 40,723 members has funded the planting of 66.1 million trees, which has avoided 2.7 million tonnes of Co2. It's incredible to see the impact we can have when we work together!
